FAQs

How does the child care tax credit work?

*If you paid someone to care for a child or a dependent so you could work, you may be able to reduce your federal income tax by claiming the Credit for Child and Dependent Care expenses on your tax return.  Higher Learning Sustainable Science Academy qualifies as a care provider under this tax law.

How can I get my tax statement?

The Higher Learning Sustainable Science Academy will provide you with your Year End Statement in January.  If you are no longer enrolled or have moved please contact your School to request a copy.

How does the sick policy work?

To ensure a healthy environment for all children enrolled in our program, it is our policy to temporarily exclude children from care who may be infectious or who demonstrate physical symptoms that require continuous one-to-one care.  If your child begins to exhibit signs or symptoms of illness while in our care, we will notify you to make arrangements for your child to be picked up within one hour.

You will be provided a chart that outlines common childhood illnesses and the criteria that must be met for children to return to school; at minimum, all children must have a 24 hour symptom free day before returning to school.  Unless our company policy is more stringent, we use individual state and health department regulations when making decisions to exclude children due to illness.  Please be advised that your Program Director may use their discretion and request that a child not return to school and/or may require a Health Care Provider’s clearance (for any illness) before returning.

Under what circumstances would a School be closed (weather related)?
